Hydragun Supertub Review: What You Get for $3,899
The HYDRAGUN Supertub 0.8 is an inflatable 60-gallon tub sold with a separate 0.8 horsepower chiller, a filter, an ozone generator and a water-care kit. It sits between bagged-ice barrels and the pricier hard-shell chiller tubs. This review is built from HYDRAGUN's own published specifications. We have not tested the Supertub ourselves, so nothing below is a measured result.

The temperature question
How cold the water gets is the main reason to pay for a chiller, so it matters that HYDRAGUN's own page gives three answers:
- The specification table lists a range of 33.8–108°F (1–42°C).
- The marketing section says the chiller keeps water as low as 37.4°F (3°C).
- The FAQ says it can chill water down to 37°F and heat it to 107°F.
The likely reading is that 33.8°F is the chiller's setpoint range and 37°F is what it can realistically hold in a tub, but HYDRAGUN does not say so. For planning, assume about 37°F in a shaded, mild location. A hot garage or direct sun will make the chiller work harder. If a lower figure matters to you, ask HYDRAGUN which number applies before you order.
Will you fit?
The outside dimensions are 52 inches long, 28 wide and 24 deep. Inflatable walls take up some of that, so the inside is smaller. HYDRAGUN does not publish interior dimensions. Two customer reviews on its page describe users of 6 ft and 6 ft 1 in fitting with knees bent. Those are buyer comments, not a measurement, so taller users should ask for the interior length first.
Weight and where to put it
Sixty gallons of water weighs about 500 lb. With the 21 lb tub and an adult inside, plan for roughly 700 lb on the floor, plus the 82 lb chiller beside it. That is our estimate from the published volume, not a HYDRAGUN figure. HYDRAGUN asks for waterproof or water-resistant flooring indoors and a structure that can carry the weight on a deck or balcony.
What is in the kit
The price includes three kits. That matters when comparing it with tubs that sell the chiller, cover or chemicals separately.
- Tub kit: tub, cover, storage bag, electric air pump, anti-slip mat, skimmer net, phone mount, tools and small parts.
- Chiller kit: Permafrost chiller with water filter, strainer, two hoses.
- Water-care kit: Sirona sanitizer and oxidizer, pH up and down, 25 test strips, measuring cup and spoon.
HYDRAGUN recommends changing the water about once a month and running the chiller around the clock so the filter and ozone keep working.
Running cost: ice vs. the Supertub
HYDRAGUN does not publish the chiller's power use, so we cannot give a monthly electricity figure. If you measure it, our chiller electricity calculator turns watts and running hours into a monthly cost. You can still check whether $3,899 beats buying ice for your routine. Our cost calculator below is pre-filled with the Supertub's list price. Enter your own ice spend and, if you can find it, a measured daily energy figure.

The 3 kWh per day in the calculator is a placeholder, not a HYDRAGUN figure. Replace it with a measured value if you have one.
Strengths (from published specs)
- Chiller, filter, ozone and water-care kit included
- Runs from a standard 110V outlet; no plumbing
- 21 lb tub can be moved or packed away
- Ships from New Jersey; no build-to-order wait
- Also heats, to about 107°F
Check before buying
- Three different low-temperature figures
- No interior dimensions published
- No published power consumption
- 25% restocking fee on returns
- Separate 82 lb chiller needs floor space and a sheltered spot
Who it suits
A good fit if you already plunge several times a week, are tired of buying ice, have a sheltered spot near an outlet, and want a complete kit without a hard-shell tub's price or weight.
Look elsewhere if you are still deciding whether the habit will stick (an ice tub is far cheaper to try; see our budget guide), you are well over 6 ft and cannot confirm the interior length, or you need the lowest possible water temperature in writing.
