Plunge Picks is an independent publication that compares cold plunge tubs, chillers, and home recovery equipment. Our goal is simple: help you choose the right cold plunge for your budget, your space, and your routine — without hype, and without pay-to-rank placements.
Who runs this site
Plunge Picks is an independently operated site. We are not a large team, a lab, or a group of certified experts, and we don't pretend to be. Everything here is prepared by the site's operator based on publicly available information and careful research.
Why cold plunges?
Cold water immersion has moved from a niche practice to a mainstream recovery habit, and the market has filled with options ranging from roughly $100 stock tanks to premium automated chiller systems costing several thousand dollars. The marketing rarely explains the real trade-offs. We built Plunge Picks to lay those trade-offs out clearly.
Do we physically test products?
No — and we will always be upfront about that. Plunge Picks does not currently perform first-hand, in-house testing of the products we compare. Our comparisons are research-based: we synthesize manufacturer-published specifications, verified owner feedback, and independent third-party testing from established review sources. If and when we conduct genuine first-hand testing, we will label it explicitly and describe exactly what we did.
How our comparisons are prepared
For each product we gather published specifications (temperature range, chiller details, dimensions, weight, warranty), cross-check them against the manufacturer's current official product page, note independent test results where they exist, and summarize consistent themes from owner feedback.
